How It Works

Profyce is a free referral service. Your call goes to an independent local provider; Profyce does not do the work itself.

Three steps

  1. Pick the line that matches the problem. Plumbing covers leaks, burst pipes, water heaters, drains, sewer backups and anything with pipes. Water damage covers standing water, soaked floors and walls, and drying after a leak, storm or flood.
  2. Your call routes to a local provider. The number on this site is a tracking number. It forwards to an independent company that has agreed to take emergency calls in your city. If one line is busy, the call moves to the next available provider in the area.
  3. You deal directly with that company. They ask what is happening, tell you what they can do and when, and quote their own pricing. If you hire them, the agreement, the invoice and the work are all between you and them.

What to have ready when you call

  • Your street address and the nearest cross street.
  • Where the water is coming from, if you know. A pipe, a fixture, an appliance, the roof, the ground.
  • Whether the water is still running and whether you found the shutoff.
  • How much is on the floor, and what rooms are wet.
  • Whether you have a crawlspace, basement or slab. It changes what the crew brings.

What Profyce does not do

  • We do not perform plumbing, restoration or any other work.
  • We are not licensed, insured or bonded as a contractor, because we are not one. The provider who answers carries their own license and insurance. Ask for both.
  • We do not set, quote or guarantee prices, and we do not promise arrival times.
  • We do not take payment from homeowners.
  • We do not screen the quality of a provider’s work. Check reviews and the NC plumbing license lookup yourself before you agree to work.

How Profyce gets paid

Service providers and the call network pay Profyce when a qualified call comes through this site. That payment does not come out of your bill and does not change the provider’s price. Full details are in the referral disclosure.

If something goes wrong with a provider

Because the agreement is between you and the provider, a dispute is handled with them directly. If a licensed plumber in North Carolina has done poor or unsafe work, the State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors takes complaints. You can also let us know through the contact page so we can stop routing calls to that company.
